February 19^th – 25^th   Our God of forgiveness 

 

Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic: “My child, your sins are forgiven.”  The sick man in the Gospel came to Jesus looking for health and he was offered forgiveness, good health followed.  We often look for wealth and we are offered peace, our possessions then don’t seem just as important.  We look for pleasure and we are offered joy, the ordinary things of life are so pleasurable.  We look for power and we are offered love, the greatest power of all because it helps us to forget ourselves.  The sins we most often need forgiveness for are found in the ways we look for the wrong things in life and miss out on the really important ones.  Those important things are first of all to be found in the intimate relationships we have in marriage and family life and secondly in the wider community that can bring us life   

 

Morning Prayer, when together

 

Father, keep before us the wisdom and love

you have revealed in your Son.

Help us to be like him in word and deed.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

 

During the day, when apart

 

Lord, as we offer you the gift of our marriage,

may our efforts at growing in love for each other

bring us salvation.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

 

Evening/Night Prayer together

 

Lord, help us to live the example of love

we see in the life of Christ your Son.

May we come to the fulfilment of our love

in your presence in heaven.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

 

Questions for Action for the week

 

For your marriage:  Do you need to ask for forgiveness for anything from your wife/husband?  Work on that this week.

 

For others:  Is there anyone other than your wife/husband from whom you need forgiveness or to whom you need to give forgiveness?  How could you do that this week?

PRAYER REQUESTS

 

 

1.      Please pray for my husband and me that all blockages, outside influences and all that is standing between us be removed. Ask our Father if it is his will that our marriage be healed and restored, Thank you.

 

2.      OUR MARRRIAGE IS FALLING APART FAST.MY HUSBAND HAS TOLD ME HE DOESN’T LOVE ME.LET HIM DECIDE TO EITHER TRY AGAIN OR LET US PART. I CAN’T TAKE MUCH MORE.

 

3.      Please pray for my sister and her husband, for my brother and his fiancée, GOD put love and peace in their relationship, be with them in their decisions, guide them, and let them walk in your road…let them be happy in their lives, in everything they do, let them be positive, in the name of the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit amen

 

4.      Please pray for my brother.  His wife has left him and they have two beautiful children.  Please heal their marriage and give them all strength.

 

5.      Please I pray my husband and I get our marriage on track. He is so distant. I am left with all worries. He can do and say hurtful things. Please help us God and bless all our children. I just want to be happy.

 

6.      Please pray for James that he will have health of mind and body and that he will meet his soul-mate soon.

 

7.      Please pray for my husband and me and our baby son who recently joined our lives, that we can find again the love that brought us together.

 

8.      Please pray for a husband and wife who are going through a marriage separation; pray for the hurt and pain to ease, communication to open up and healing to begin between them.

 

9.      Asking for prayers of thanksgiving and praise for all the blessings of God on our family. We are in the midst of a dark and difficult time but God is so obviously with us. Praise God!

 

10.  Please pray for me and my husband’s marriage that we get through all the problems that we have with debt, no baby… Life is not good

 

11.  Please pray for Fiona who is suffering with cancer which has spread to her brain, she is a young mother with 3 small children. Ask the Lord to send her healing at this terrible time for her and her family. Thank you

 

12.  Please pray for all my loved ones & prayers for me & my bf even when apart to make us stronger & have much love forever… and could you please pray for me for all the trials I have now… And thank God for all he has given us.

 

13.  Please pray for a young couple with small children who are about to break up

 

14.  Please pray for the restoration of marriage for a couple I know.

 

15.  Please pray for me. I am looking for a job and things are not going well in my marriage either. I want God to give me and my husband love in our home.

 

16.  Please pray for my husband that, God willing, we might be back together soon.

 

17.  Prayers for someone who has heart and chest trouble. stomach trouble and back problems

21.  Please pray for all of those with special intentions in this website especially those who are sick, lonely and sad at this time. May God lay his loving hand on them so that they may experience peace, guidance and His love at this time.

 

22.  I would like to pray that my daughter will not suffer because of arguments between her dad and I, and that she may grow up in a happy home.

 

23.  My wife of 4 yrs is in a mental health hospital and has been for 3weeks. She blames me for her breakdown. She says I’m verbally abusive. Please pray for my forgiveness and her healing. I love her more than I ever say in words. I am lost without her. She is 200 miles away on Christmas Day by herself. I am alone as well. Also she thinks it’s better to be apart instead of making this commitment to God and each other work. Lord please pray for our tongues, that we will only say Pure, Noble things with respect to one another. Let me love my wife like Jesus loves the Church. May your angels in heaven be with her and that no evil will prosper against us. Our marriage needs more of you God then everything else will follow. Please I pray with tears and ask for Mercy and Forgiveness in this relationship. I want, need, my beautiful wife back in my arms, In Jesus name AMEN.
